Jackson Laboratories v. Kemlight Corporation          United States District Court          Bangor, Maine

     This complicated litigation involved five parties with cross claims relating to the twenty-two million dollars in damages resulting from an explosion and fire which damaged the world's most prominent animal genetic breeding facility.  The Kemlight Corporation was the manufacturer of a compound which ignited during an application procedure alleged to have been inadequate by the Defendant Kemlight Corporation.  In deposition, Defendant's expert Robinson provided testimony concerning group dynamics factors in the workplace and human and cultural factors in the readability and comprehension of printed and illustrated instructions.  A settlement satisfactory to the Defendant was effected.

     Gilbo V. Mitchell & Stanley Inc



Ms. Gilbo, an elderly widow, lived alone in rural Maine. She alleged defects in a 

heating mechanism which resulted in a fire and the destruction of her home and 

possessions. Plaintiff’s expert, Charles L. Robinson PHD, provided deposition

testimony detailing the plaintiffs physiological damages. A confidential settlement was obtained

following deposition.
